Rada to ratify US minerals deal on May 8 – Zelenskyy
The Verkhovna Rada is to ratify the US minerals deal on Thursday, May 8.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel on May 7, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Tomorrow, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is to ratify the Economic Partnership Agreement with the United States of America," he wrote.
According to him, the agreement is written in a way that meets Ukraine's national interests.
"Security and the economy always go hand in hand. We need decades of predictable and tangible economic growth. America's strategic vision is to form new economic partnerships. This will work for both Ukraine's defense and our defense cooperation," he added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation has made amendments to the bill on the ratification of the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United States on the establishment of the US-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (Minerals Agreement), concluded on April 30.
