Hetmantsev denies information about possible VAT increase
Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, denies information about a possible VAT increase.
He announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Again, I see another wave in the media about raising VAT as a result of a visit by our IMF representatives. The IMF did not visit, did not receive recommendations, but I can responsibly tell you that no, there was no discussion of raising VAT and there is no discussion. At least in this convocation of parliament," the MP wrote.
At the same time, he added that if we talk about the future, Hetmantsev would advise his colleagues in the government to first exhaust the resource of de-shadowing (including by reforming customs and the BEB), reduce their own ineffective expenses (such as the completely ineffective cashback), use the reserve from the additional placement of government bonds, and only then think about VAT rates.
Earlier, the media reported that VAT may be raised in Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Hetmantsev is convinced that there is no chance of revealing banking secrecy to the State Tax Service during the current convocation of parliament.
