Poroshenkos did not appear in court regarding division of property

Neither Maryna Poroshenko nor Petro Poroshenko appeared in court regarding the division of property.

This is evidenced by the court materials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

They were supposed to appear in court on April 29, but only Poroshenko's representative Ihor Holovan came. Maryna Poroshenko did not appear in court, sent an application to the court to consider the case in her absence. Petro Poroshenko's representative considered it possible to hold a preparatory court hearing in his absence.

The court, having heard Poroshenko's representative and examined the case materials, decided by a court protocol decision in the court session to postpone the preparatory court hearing to May 16.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Poroshenko's wife filed a lawsuit against him regarding the division of property. Maryna and Petro Poroshenko risk being charged with fraud for attempting to use the court without a subject of dispute to circumvent sanctions, - writes the publication "Law and Business", referring to the conclusions of leading lawyers. Experts have already called the politician's actions attempts to circumvent the law and effectively remove the oligarch's assets from the sanctions. The court told what property the Poroshenkos want to divide.
