Main direction of strike - Kyiv. Russia launches 215 air targets over Ukraine overnight
On the night of Thursday, April 24, russian troops carried out a combined strike on Ukraine with missiles of various types and Shahed-type strike UAVs and simulator drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 48 missiles and 64 enemy drones, another 68 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of April 24 (from 07:30 pm on April 23), the russian occupiers carried out a combined strike on Ukraine with missiles of various types of air, ground and sea-based, as well as Shahed-type strike UAVs and simulator drones of other types.
The main direction of the strike is the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv.
In total, the radio-technical troops of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detected and tracked 215 enemy air targets:
- 11 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (launch areas - Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk Oblasts - the russian federation);
- 37 Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95ms strategic bombers (launch area - Saratov Oblast);
- 6 Iskander-K cruise missiles (launch area - Donetsk Region);
- 12 Kalibr cruise missiles (from the Black Sea);
- 4 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aircraft missiles from tactical aircraft (launch area - Belgorod Oblast);
- 145 Shahed strike UAVs/simulator drones of various types (from the Bryansk, Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk Oblasts - RF; Chauda - TOT Crimea).
"According to preliminary data, as of 10:00 am, the downing of 112 air targets was confirmed:
- 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
- 31 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 6 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 4 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aircraft missiles;
- 64 Shahed strike UAVs.
In addition, 68 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences)," the message says.
It is also reported that aviation, in particular, F-16 and Mirage fighters, took an active part in repelling the attack.
As a result of the enemy attack, the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi Regions were affected.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of April 23, the russians launched 134 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 67 of them, another 47 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
