Trump says he expects russia to respond to ceasefire proposal "this week"

The President of the United States of America Donald Trump said that "this week" the aggressor country russia should deliver the US a response to the ceasefire proposal in Ukraine. He stated this at a press conference with the Head of the Italian Government Giorgia Meloni at the White House.

Thus, the US leader will have to decide whether the russians are ready for a ceasefire and, if necessary, tighten sanctions against the aggressor country.

"We'll see what that will be. We're going to be hearing from them [Russia – Ed.] this week. Very shortly, actually, and we'll see," Trump said.

He also stressed that he wants "the deaths and the killings to stop."

ISW also noted that the aggressor state russia may soon recognize the end of the 30-day ceasefire regarding the shelling of energy infrastructure and intensify its strikes on Ukraine.
