President Zelenskyy awards title of Hero of Ukraine to pilot Pavlo Ivanov, killed in battle on F-16
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to pilot Pavlo Ivanov.
This was reported by the website of the Head of State.
As reported in the Office of the President, by order of the Air Force Commander dated April 12, 2025 No. 278, Captain Pavlo Ivanov was awarded the next military rank of major.
Zelenskyy decided to posthumously award the title of Hero of Ukraine to Major Ivanov for his personal courage and heroism shown while defending state sovereignty.
"For personal courage and heroism shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: To confer the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star on IVANOV Pavlo Ivanovych - Major (posthumously)," the presidential decree reads.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 12, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 26-year-old Ukrainian pilot Pavlo Ivanov was killed while performing a combat mission.
Ivanov was a pilot on an F-16 fighter jet.
