Russia must accept ceasefire without any conditions - UK Foreign Secretary Lammy

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said that G7 allies unanimously call for a ceasefire "without any conditions" to stop the hostilities in Ukraine.

His statement was quoted by PA Media.

According to the head of the British Foreign Office, there is only one approach to achieving lasting peace - "a ceasefire without any conditions".

"Ukraine has set out its position. Now russia must accept it. I think a coalition is forming that wants to provide Ukraine with the security architecture and agreements that it needs, as well as delve into the details of any monitoring of this ceasefire in the future," Lammy said.

He added that "on all these issues we have found common ground, and the G7 family has united."
