Poroshenko, Medvedchuk and Kolomoiskyi must return those stolen. Most Ukrainians for sanctions until full compensation - survey
The majority of Ukrainians consider the sanctions applied to Poroshenko, Medvedchuk and Kolomoiskyi fair and oppose their lifting until they return the funds to the state and bear legal responsibility.
This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by the Active Group company.
"Sanctions against oligarchs Medvedchuk, Poroshenko and Kolomoiskyi are considered a deserved punishment by 65.2% of Ukrainians, of whom 34.1% are "definitely deserved" and 31.1% are "more deserved," the results of the study say.
Also, 50.1% of Ukrainians believe that the lifting of sanctions is possible only after the indicated politicians and oligarchs bear legal responsibility, in particular, 31.3% of respondents insist on criminal liability.
Almost 20% believe that sanctions cannot be lifted under any conditions, even if the persons involved bear responsibility. At the same time, only 6.2% of Ukrainians support the lifting of sanctions.
Also, the majority of Ukrainians spoke out against the participation of politicians under sanctions in the elections.
"Regarding the participation of politicians under sanctions in the elections, 68.9% of respondents spoke out "against", of whom 41.6% are "definitely no", and 27.3% - "probably not". Only 12% expressed unequivocal support for this question, and 13.8% of respondents answered "rather yes", sociologists note.
The study was conducted by the company Active Group using the online panel SunFlower Sociology at the request of the Analytical Center Politics of the Future. Method: survey of Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and over. Sample: 1,500 questionnaires (representative by age, gender and region of Ukraine). Data collection period: March 6, 2025.
As is known, on February 13, sanctions were imposed against a number of oligarchs and politicians who posed a threat to the national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and facilitated terrorist activities. The list included Petro Poroshenko, Ihor Kolomoiskyi and Viktor Medvedchuk.
In particular, Petro Poroshenko was accused of lobbying for the Kharkiv agreements (Black Sea Fleet in Crimea); financing terrorists (purchase of coal from ORDLO); trade in war with russia (Lypetsk factory, Bogdan plant in the russian federation, etc.); joint illegal alienation of the oil pipeline from the state with Medvedchuk and the russians, etc.
Earlier, the media reported that in January 2025, MP Petro Poroshenko withdrew UAH 1 billion 48 million from Ukraine and donated another UAH 986 million, and then he was stopped by sanctions.
