Cabinet authorizes Svyrydenko and Sybiha to sign agreement with US on minerals

The Cabinet of Ministers authorized First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulyia Svyrydenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha to sign an agreement with the US on Ukrainian subsoil and the creation of the Reconstruction Investment Fund.

This is stated in order No. 164 dated February 26, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

By this order, the Cabinet also approved the draft Bilateral Agreement on establishing the rules and conditions of the Reconstruction Investment Fund.

"To authorize the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy Yuliya Anatolyivna Svyrydenko or Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Ivanovych Sybiha to sign the said Agreement," the document states.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 26, the Cabinet approved the signing of an agreement with the US on Ukrainian subsoil and the creation of the Reconstruction Investment Fund.

Earlier on Wednesday, Shmyhal said that Ukraine's agreement with the United States on minerals has been prepared, and it is directly tied to security guarantees for Ukraine. According to American media reports, US President Donald Trump is expecting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to visit the United States on February 28 to sign an agreement on mineral extraction.
