Cabinet proposes Zelenskyy to approve new standards for career growth of military personnel – Defense Ministry

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the draft presidential decree developed by the Ministry of Defense and submitted it for consideration to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on approving new standards for career growth of military personnel, which meets the standards of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The Ministry of Defense has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that the content of the draft regulation is divided into periods in time (peacetime, special period and martial law), as well as by types of military service.

Key changes that will come into effect after returning to peacetime:

"The reform is aimed at implementing a transparent and fair system of career growth for military personnel. In it, promotion will be based on an objective assessment of the personal achievements of military personnel, their skills and competence," the report says.

It is noted that the new system provides for fair remuneration for high service performance, which will generally contribute to strengthening the combat capability of the army.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in August 2024, the Ministry of Defense approved new flight procedures for tactical aviation based on NATO standards.
