Russia lost more soldiers near Pokrovsk over month than in entire 2nd Chechen war – Khortytsia Troops Group spokesman
On the Pokrovsk axis, the losses of the russian army in January amounted to 7,000 people killed. This is more than in the entire second Chechen war.
The spokesman for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group, Viktor Trehubov, stated this on the air of the national telethon.
According to him, the Pokrovsk axis still remains the most active, over the past day there were 24 enemy assaults on the axis. The russians are storming to the south and southwest of the city.
The spokesman specified that according to the data of the Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on the Pokrovsk axis the russians lost 7,000 personnel irretrievably and 15,000 in total, including the wounded and missing.
"The Russians' second Chechen war has resulted in 6,000 deaths for the entire period. That is, in January alone, the Russians have suffered more deaths than in the entire second Chechen war," he said.
Trehubov said that the russians are currently throwing all their forces and reserves into efforts to capture the city. In particular, if they managed to cut the roads leading to the city, at least from the west and southwest, this could indicate the success of the occupiers.
But now they are not succeeding, the russians are losing a very large number of personnel and equipment, simply trying to cling to small villages southwest of Pokrovsk.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the number of battles near Pokrovsk is commensurate with the number of clashes on the entire front.
