Ukraine returns 150 more defenders from russian captivity – Zelenskyy

Ukraine has returned 150 more of its defenders from russian captivity.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Today is a good day for all of us. We are returning 150 of our defenders from Russian captivity. These are soldiers, sergeants, officers. Soldiers of the Naval Forces who were captured in Mariupol and the Zaporizhzhia Region, the Air Forces, soldiers of the Air Assault and Ground Forces, National Guardsmen, border guards, land defense personnel, as well as a policeman. All of them are from different directions of the front, but they are united by one thing: they fought for Ukraine," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, some of the guys were in captivity for more than two years.

He thanked partners, in particular the UAE, for their assistance in returning Ukrainians and assured that work is ongoing to return everyone.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 15, Zelenskyy announced the return of 25 more Ukrainians from russian captivity.

According to him, in 2024, Ukraine returned 1,358 military and civilians from russian captivity.
