Zelenskyy calls for Ukraine to return nuclear weapons until country is accepted into NATO

The aggressor country must leave all occupied territories of Ukraine, as the country is not accepted into the North Atlantic Alliance. At the same time, Ukraine must return nuclear weapons to protect against the russian federation while the process of joining NATO is postponed, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with British host Piers Morgan on Tuesday, February 4. The excerpt was published on Morgan's X-account.

Zelenskyy noted that partners should provide Ukraine with financial and military support that would allow it to deter russia until the country is accepted into NATO. According to him, if Ukraine is not a member of NATO, which russian dictator putin feared, then he should withdraw his troops from Ukrainian soil.

"If this process drags on for years or decades, not because of us, but because of partners, then we simply have a question. What will protect us from this evil? What support package, what missiles? Will they give us nuclear weapons? Return nuclear weapons, give missile systems, help finance a million-strong army, move the contingent to where we want stability," Zelenskyy stressed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 1, U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and the russian federation, Keith Kellogg, said that the new American leader has a "reliable plan" to end russia's war against Ukraine.
