Russian authorities' biggest fears are putin's death and continued SSU drone strikes on refineries - Holobutskyi
The russian authorities' biggest fear is putin's death, after which russia will face chaos. And right now, the biggest problem for the Kremlin is Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) drone strikes on their refineries.
This is what political scientist Oleksii Holobutskyi writes about.
The expert emphasizes that the intensity and frequency of the Service's strikes are increasing. "In the last week alone, there have been three large-scale hits to refineries. The last one was on the night of January 28-29 to the Andreapol oil pumping station, which is an important component of the Baltic Pipeline System-2. The russians simply do not have enough air defense to cover all the facilities. The geography of drones is the widest. And the sanctions from the SSU will only increase," Holobutskyi writes.
The political scientist emphasizes that russia is suffering huge losses from SSU drone strikes. "The direct losses from the "SSU sanctions" are enormous. Each hit is from USD 50 million to USD 100 million in oil and equipment. For example, the direct losses from this week's strikes on the oil pumping station in Ryazan are USD 75 million. But even more important are the indirect losses - due to broken contracts, due to broken supply chains. These figures are difficult to calculate exactly, but it is obvious that we are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars in losses from each strike," the expert believes.
"The Kremlin is trying very hard to create the illusion of peaceful life for its citizens. But the constantly burning refineries cannot be hidden due to the scale of the fires. Even russian Telegram channels laugh at the next statements that these are "drone fragments." The fragments of SSU drones are the most accurate and explosive fragments in the world," Holobutskyi summarizes.
As a reminder, earlier it became known about the strikes on the Andreapol oil pumping station. As a result of the attack by SSU drones, the filtration pump site, tanks with additives were damaged at the station, there was a spill of oil products and a fire. The russians had to stop the main pipeline, which supplies oil to the Ust-Luga terminal in the Leningrad Oblast.
