Cabinet resolution on procedure for deferring conscription allows students and teachers to be mobilized - MP
Member of Parliament of Ukraine Roman Hryshchuk identified significant problems in the new resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the procedure for deferring conscription for military service, which came into force on January 16.
He reported this on Facebook.
According to the MP, two key paragraphs of the resolution cause serious concern and potentially contradict the law on mobilization. The resolution establishes a limited deferral for students and postgraduates for one semester, but no more than six months, and for scientific and pedagogical workers - until the end of the academic year.
Hryshchuk emphasizes that such conditions create significant risks, in particular, uncertainty about the status of teachers in the summer months and the potential possibility of mobilizing students during the holidays.
"The resolution must be urgently brought into line with the law," the MP said.
He noted that he has already prepared an appeal to the Prime Minister and plans to send parliamentary proposals to correct the situation. The MP demands to provide a deferral to teachers for the entire period of their employment contract and to students for the entire period of study.
Hryshchuk expressed confidence that the government will correct the identified inaccuracies, as he considers the situation when students and teachers can be mobilized during the holidays unacceptable.
As previously reported, the head of the National Police Vyhivskyi does not rule out a gradual reduction in the mobilization age.
