Trump promises to declassify documents on assassination of Kennedy

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump promised on the eve of his inauguration to reveal previously unpublished documents related to the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

He stated this at a rally on January 19 in Washington.

In addition to the assassination of Kennedy on November 22, 1963 in Dallas (Texas), Trump wants to reveal the details of the death of the leader of the civil rights movement, Baptist pastor and public figure Martin Luther King on April 4, 1968 in Memphis (Tennessee).

"In the coming days, we are going to make public remaining records related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, as well as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other topics of great public interest," Trump said.

Trump has previously declassified files related to high-profile assassinations in the United States. At that time, 2,891 documents related to the assassination of John F. Kennedy were first published in the National Archives and Records Administration database. However, some documents remained unpublished as they could harm the country's national security.

Recall that Trump promised to declassify the files on the assassination of Kennedy during the election race.
