Russia launches over 40 missiles and 70 drones at Ukraine – Zelenskyy

The military of the aggressor countries of russia has struck another blow at the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, using missiles and attack drones.

This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Thus, Zelenskyy noted that the russians' targets were the gas infrastructure and energy facilities that ensure the lives of people in Ukraine.

"More than 40 missiles were involved in this strike, including ballistics. At least 30 were destroyed. There were also more than 70 russian attack drones overnight. Thanks to our air defense, all the units involved, we are maintaining the operation of our energy system," the President wrote.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine constantly needs to strengthen the existing air shield capabilities. After all, partners at the NATO summit in Washington and in the Ramstein format made promises that have not yet been fully implemented.

"We also talked about licenses for the production of air defense and anti-missile systems, which can become one of the effective security guarantees for Ukraine, and this is also realistic and must be implemented. We are grateful to everyone who helps our state. But it is not only about our state. Right now, the defense of Ukraine is proving whether Europe and the democratic world in general are capable of stopping wars - reliably and for a long time," he stressed.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, an air alert was declared across Ukraine on the morning of Wednesday, January 15, due to the missile threat. Kh-101 missiles were launched from TU-95MS bombers. In addition, Kalibr missiles flew over the Kherson Region from the Black Sea. Russia also attacked with Kinzhal missiles and ballistic missiles. Most of the missiles were moving towards the west of Ukraine.
