Poland promises to help Ukraine if Slovakia stops electricity exports

Poland will help export electricity to Ukraine if Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stops exports and disconnects backup energy supplies to Ukraine.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a Polish official.

According to the senior official, Poland is ready to increase domestic electricity production to compensate for any imbalance that may arise in the Ukrainian energy system in the event of such a step by Slovakia.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Czech Republic is ready to help Slovakia with gas if Ukraine stops the transit of natural gas from russia.

Recall that on December 22, a meeting took place between Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and russian dictator vladimir putin.

On December 27, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico threatened to cut off energy supplies to Ukraine if Kyiv stops transporting russian gas to Central Europe.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, commenting on Fico's visit to putin, stated that Slovakia is paying with its own sovereignty for discounts on russian energy resources.
