Trump officially declared winner of US presidential election

Donald Trump has been declared winner of the US presidential election in November 2024. His victory was confirmed by officials who met on January 6 at a joint session of Congress.

The American channel CNN reported this with reference to its correspondent.

It is noted that the vote count was held without objections or disturbances. This is in sharp contrast to the situation in 2021, when the certification of the previous presidential election ended with the storming of the Capitol.

The vote counting process was led by the current Vice President Kamala Harris, who was Trump's opponent in the election.

She announced the certification of the vote count results. According to the law, this statement is considered sufficient to declare Trump the President-elect.

Harris also declared Ohio Senator J.D. Vance the Vice President-elect of the United States.

Trump and Vance received 312 electoral votes. Harris and her vice presidential candidate Tim Walz received 226 votes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the US presidential election was held on November 5, 2024. Elections to both houses of the US Congress were also held on that day.
