Vodafone Ukraine increases number of generators by 1.3 times

Mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine (PJSC VF Ukraine, Kyiv) has purchased another 600 generators to provide base stations with backup power during power outages.

This is stated in the company's message, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The message states that some of the generators have already been received in 2024, the rest are expected in 2025.

Thus, the company will increase the available resources and capacity of generating equipment for mobile communication facilities by 1.3 times.

It is noted that in order to increase the reliability and increase the time of autonomous power supply of base stations, the company has significantly accelerated the modernization of its own networks over the past three years, in particular, it is constantly and in significant volumes replacing traditional lead-acid batteries until they are completely decommissioned with a more progressive lithium-iron-phosphate type of battery.

Thus, the company more than 2 times increases the available resources and capacities of modern backup power supply of mobile communication facilities.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in mid-December, the mobile operator Vodafone Ukraine (PJSC VF Ukraine, Kyiv) announced an increase in tariffs from December 24.

But later it announced the postponement of the announced changes in the new tariffs.
