Purchasing power of Ukrainians improved compared to pre-war period - Finance Ministry
Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko reported that the purchasing power of Ukrainians has become better compared to the pre-war period.
He announced this on the air of the United News telethon, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Our purchasing power of Ukrainians has become better compared to the pre-war period. I'm not talking in general, but mostly in terms of tax collection, we feel that we pay taxes that go through consumption, in particular VAT, at a fairly high rate, which indicates a high level of consumption and economic activity," the minister said.
According to him, there is an understanding that this does not apply to everyone, in particular pensioners.
"There will be no reduction in expenditures for these categories... Pension reform measures are planned, which should provide improvements," Marchenko emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko reported that no tax increase is planned next year.
The law on tax increases came into effect on December 1, although it provided for tax increases from October.
