US expected to announce new USD 1.25 billion military aid package to Ukraine on Monday – media
The United States plans to provide Ukraine with another large military aid package worth USD 1.25 billion before the end of Biden's presidential term, American officials say.
The Associated Press announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Citing American officials who shared the information on condition of anonymity, the Associated Press emphasizes that the administration of current President Joe Biden seeks to provide maximum support to Kyiv until the end of his presidential term.
According to media reports, the new military aid package will include a significant amount of ammunition for NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems and HAWK air defense systems; in addition, Ukraine will receive Stinger missiles, as well as 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells.
As the Associated Press sources write, the announcement of the transfer of aid, according to officials, is expected on Monday, December 30.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, in December, Ukraine received the first USD 1 billion from the United States, secured by proceeds from frozen russian assets.
