Massive russian attack on Christmas. Air Force tell how air defense worked
On the night of Wednesday, December 25, the military of the aggressor country of russia carried out a combined strike on the facilities of the fuel and energy sector of Ukraine with missiles of various types of air, land and sea-based, as well as Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of simulator drones.
This is stated in the message of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, the radio-technical troops of the Air Force detected and accompanied 184 enemy air targets:
- 2 KN-23 ballistic missiles (launch area - Voronezh Oblast);
- 10 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles (launch area - Belgorod Oblast)
- 12 Kalibr cruise missiles (from the Black Sea);
- 50 Kh-101/Kh-55cm cruise missiles from Tu-95ms strategic bombers (launch area - Volgograd Oblast, Caspian Sea);
- 4 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aircraft missiles from tactical aircraft (launch area - Belgorod Oblast - russian federation);
- 106 Shahed attack UAVs/simulator drones of various types (from the Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk regions - russian federation).
Anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare equipment and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.
As of 12:00 p.m., the downing of 113 air targets was confirmed:
- 55 Kh-101, Kh-55cm, Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 4 Kh-59/Kh-69 guided aircraft missiles;
- 54 Shahed strike UAVs/simulator drones of various types, another 52 did not reach their targets (lost in location).
Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian energy facilities in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zaporizhzhia Regions. There are casualties as a result of the russian strike.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, due to the russian missile attack, power outage schedules will be in effect in Ukraine until the end of the day.
