Trump's team considering ways to end war in Ukraine - future Adviser to US President Waltz

The team of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is considering ways to end the war in Ukraine, in particular, how to bring the parties to the negotiating table.

Trump's nominee for the position of the National Security Adviser to the U.S. President Mike Waltz stated this in an interview with CBS News, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Thus, Waltz answered the question of whether the Trump team plans to limit Ukraine's use of American weapons or targeted assistance after taking office.

"What does success look like in line with our interests? How do we end the war? Who's at the table? How do we drive, you know, all sides to the table, and what's the framework for- for an agreement? Those are things that we're thinking through with his fantastic team that he's assembling," he said.

According to Waltz, immediately after the election, everyone who came to Trump’s team – European allies and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in particular – discussed how to end the war within the aforementioned framework.

“How do we end this conflict? How do we do it in a way that restores stability, stops the carnage, and hopefully makes this a permanent end, not just- not just a pause? Those are all things that we're thinking through. And in terms of the question you just asked, the NATO Secretary General came here to Mar a Lago, he's talking about the Europeans taking a bigger role in- whether that's on the ground or otherwise, after this conflict is over, and that's exactly what President Trump has been asking for,” he added.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the team of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump held discussions with the team of incumbent U.S. President Joe Biden and Ukrainian officials about ending the war in Ukraine; by all accounts, Trump is serious about reaching a truce on the first day of his presidency.
