US President-elect Donald Trump shared details of his meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris, where they participated in the opening ceremony of Notre Dame, The New York Post reports, based on a telephone interview with Trump after his trip to Paris.
In the conversation, Trump spoke of his desire to quickly end the war in Ukraine and said that he was working on "forming a concept" to achieve this goal.
Trump confirmed that he had spoken with Zelenskyy about the possibility of ending the war and emphasized his readiness for negotiations.
"He wants to negotiate peace. This is something new," said Donald Trump.
"He wants to negotiate a ceasefire.. We didn't talk about the details. He thinks it's time, and putin should think it's time, because he lost. When you lose 700,000 people, it's time. This won't end until peace is agreed," the US president-elect said.
Trump added that he was "formulating a concept for how to end this senseless war."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 8, US President-elect Donald Trump said that Ukraine had lost 400,000 soldiers in the war with the aggressor country of russia.
In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had lost 43,000 soldiers since the start of the full-scale war.
On November 15, Zelenskyy said that under Trump, the war in Ukraine would end faster.
