Servant of the People explains why Ukrainians are being given UAH 1,000 after tax increase

Member of Parliament from the Servant of the People faction, deputy head of the committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk, explained that the "UAH 1,000 from Zelenskyy" was introduced for additional receipts of partners' funds to the state budget to finance the army.

She told Ukrainian News Agency about this.

"The funds are being distributed due to the impossibility of using these funds for the army, because these are funds from foreign partners and by increasing the solvency of the population, additional revenues are expected to be received by the state budget, which will also go to the army," she said.

Vasylevska-Smahliuk emphasized that the government did not consult with parliament in any way regarding such use of partners' funds.
