Scholz sends putin message from Kyiv: Germany will not weaken support for Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that by visiting Kyiv, he is sending a message to russian dictator vladimir putin that Germany will not weaken support for Ukraine. Scholz reported this on X, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"My message from Kyiv to Putin: we are resilient, we will not weaken support for Ukraine, we stand by the Ukrainians - as long as necessary," he stressed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Scholz arrived in Kyiv on Monday, December 2, with an unannounced visit and announced the provision of a new package of military support to Ukraine for EUR 650 million in December. He and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected the latest models of drones created in cooperation with Germany.

On November 15, Scholz had a telephone conversation with putin, the first direct communication between Scholz and putin in almost two years.

Zelenskyy criticized Scholz's call to putin, calling it a Pandora's box and a weakening of the russian dictator's isolation. At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed that there will be no "Minsk-3", Ukraine needs real peace.
