Zelenskyy discusses with President of South Korea involvement by russia of North Korean military

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has discussed with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol the involvement of the North Korean military by the aggressor country of the russian federation.

Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"I had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol... We discussed the involvement of the North Korean military in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. There is only one conclusion - this war is internationalized and goes beyond the borders of two states," he said.

Zelenskyy said that he had provided the interlocutor with fresh data on the transfer of 3,000 North Korean soldiers to russian training grounds in the immediate vicinity of the combat zone and the expected increase in their number to approximately 12,000.

They agreed to strengthen the exchange of intelligence and expertise, intensify contacts at all levels, including the highest, to develop an action strategy and a list of countermeasures in response to escalation, as well as to involve mutual partners in cooperation.

Within the framework of this agreement, Ukraine and the Republic of Korea will soon exchange delegations to coordinate actions.

Zelenskyy thanked South Korea for its consistent support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for the already provided and announced financial and humanitarian assistance.

He also invited South Korea to join the G7 Vilnius Declaration on bilateral security agreements in support of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, announced the possible supply of South Korean weapons to Ukraine against the background of information about the arrival of North Korean military personnel in russia to participate in the war against Ukraine.

A South Korean delegation will visit Ukraine this week to share information about North Korea's deployment of troops to russia and discuss cooperation.
