Of USD 50 billion G7 loan for Ukraine, USD 20 billion will come from US
US Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen said that the G7 countries plan to provide Ukraine with a USD 50 billion loan by the end of the year. Income from the frozen assets of russia will be used to repay it.
She said this during a meeting with the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhii Marchenko.
"The G7 intends to provide Ukraine with a USD 50 billion loan by the end of this year," Yellen said.
According to her, this amount was divided among the members of the Group of Seven. USD 20 billion will come from the US.
The loan granted to Ukraine will be repaid at the expense of revenues received from frozen russian assets.
The US Secretary of the Treasury emphasized that in this way russia will be forced to pay for its military aggression, not European and American taxpayers.
It will be recalled that on October 22, the Japanese media corporation Nikkei reported with reference to its own sources that the Group of Seven countries will not unfreeze russia's assets after the end of the war.
We previously reported that on June 13, the Group of Seven countries agreed to allocate USD 50 billion to Ukraine at the expense of the frozen assets of the russian federation.
