General Staff confirms AFU attack on Lipetsk-2 airfield and factory for production of explosives in russia

On the night of October 20, the Defense Forces of Ukraine attacked the russian military airfield Lipetsk-2 and the enterprise Plant named after Y.M. Sverdlov. Numerous explosions were recorded, the results of the damage are being clarified.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Tonight, the infrastructure of the Lipetsk-2 military airfield, located in the Lipetsk Oblast of the russian federation, was damaged by fire. In particular, the targets were ammunition warehouses, storage places for fuel and lubricants, and aircraft equipment. It is known that Su-34 aircraft are based at the airfield, Su-35 and MiG-31 of the enemy's aerospace forces," the message says

In addition, the Defense Forces of Ukraine attacked the federal state-owned enterprise Plant named after Y.M. Sverdlov in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of the russian federation, where chemicals for artillery ammunition and high-explosive aerial bombs are produced. Also, according to available information, guided aerial bombs were stored on the territory of the plant.

"Numerous explosions were recorded in the areas of both objects, and the active work of enemy anti-aircraft was also noted. The results of the damage are being clarified," the General Staff reported.

It is indicated that the task was carried out by the forces and means of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces.

We will remind, earlier the mass media reported with reference to sources that the forces of the SSU and the Defense Forces carried out an attack on the Sverdlov plant in Dzerzhinsk, in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of the russian federation. As a result of the joint operation, a fire broke out at the largest enterprise for the production of explosives.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of October 20, a large-scale fire broke out at this plant, and explosions were heard. The local authorities announced an attack by drones, which were shot down or smothered by EW means. And the fire, which was recorded by numerous local residents, is allegedly the result of falling debris.
