North Korea puts artillery and troops on border with South Korea on alert

On Sunday, October 13, North Korea ordered artillery units located on the border with South Korea to be ready to fire.

This is reported by Yonhap.

It is noted that this step is a response to possible incursions of South Korean drones into Pyongyang's airspace.

According to the agency's report, the North Korean General Staff ordered the artillery units located near the border and other important units to be on full alert the day before.

"Eight artillery brigades, fully armed in accordance with the deployment of forces and means in wartime, must be transferred to a state of combat readiness by 08:00 p.m. on the 13th," the order read.

In addition, the General Staff ordered units to prepare for possible countermeasures, given the situation where a South Korean drone could cross the border again and strike.

North Korea previously claimed that South Korea had launched three drones toward Pyongyang and threatened to use force in the event of repeated flights.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, soldiers from the DPRK are already fighting in Ukraine, in addition, several thousand North Korean soldiers are undergoing training in russia and may be transferred to the front line in the future, the Institute for the Study of War reports.
