National TV Council expects completely block of Telegram in Ukraine
The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting expects that the Telegram messenger will soon be completely blocked in Ukraine.
This is stated in the message of the National Council, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We hope that the current state of countering the risks associated with the use of this social network by state bodies is intermediate, and soon Telegram will be completely blocked in Ukraine, just as Odnoklassniki, VKontakte and all services of Yandex and Mail.ru companies were once blocked," the message reads.
The National Council reported that it has already banned the use of Telegram on the official devices of its employees.
"The National Council started talking about the danger of Telegram more than a year ago. Finally, other state bodies that take care of security issues joined our position. The decision of the National Coordination Center for Cyber Security at the NSDC to limit the use of Telegram in state bodies, military formations and facilities of critical infrastructure was decisive," the message states.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the use of Telegram will be restricted in the Verkhovna Rada on the recommendation of the National Security and Defense Council.
In September, the National Coordination Center for Cyber Security decided to limit the use of Telegram in state authorities, military formations and critical infrastructure facilities.
At the same time, the restriction on the use of Telegram does not apply to the official Telegram channels of state authorities, but is of a recommendatory nature for the government.
