During the next three years, the Ministry of Defense of the terrorist country of russia plans to recruit at least 225,000 new military personnel for contract service, according to an analysis of the draft budget conducted by the Important Stories portal. The document states that RUB 90 billion (about USD 950 million) have been earmarked for one-time payments for concluding a contract with the military department.
Today, the federal one-time payment for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation is RUB 400,000 (USD 4,216). The amount was increased by the decree of vladimir putin dated July 31, 2024, before that the payments amounted to RUB 195,000.
If the volume of financial motivation remains constant, the allocated RUB 90 billion will allow attracting 225,000 new contractors in three years. In the case of a return to the former amount of RUB 195,000, it will be possible to recruit about 461,500 people, the publication calculated.
At the same time, an increase in planned costs is possible: in the first half of 2024 alone, more than RUB 32 billion were spent on payments to new contractors, which exceeds the budget allocated for the next year.
In the summer of 2023, the authorities of the russian federation, seeking to accelerate the recruitment of contractors, significantly increased one-time payments. After putin raised the federal payment to RUB 400,000, 47 regions of russia also increased regional payments. On average, their size is now RUB 596,000, which is 3.6 times more than at the end of 2022.
In such regions as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast and Karachay-Cherkessia, the total amount of payments for new contractors exceeds RUB 2 million.
From July 2023 to June 2024, total payments to participants in the invasion of Ukraine, including compensation for injuries and deaths, amounted to RUB 3 trillion. This is almost a third of russia's record-breaking military budget of RUB 10.8 trillion and about 8% of the federal budget.
