National Police do not record cases of dangerous trend from TikTok - "chroming" among children in Ukraine
The National Police did not record cases of the dangerous trend from TikTok - "chroming" or "huffing" among children in Ukraine.
This is stated in a Telegram message of the National Police, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"In Ukraine, the units of the National Police have not recorded any cases of "chroming", and the increase in popularity of this challenge has not been recorded in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet," the National Police emphasized.
Such a challenge, which is also called "chroming", involves inhaling toxic vapors of household products: nail polish, markers, aerosols and other household substances. It causes serious health consequences, including damage to the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys and other organs, and can lead to addiction and even death.
The National Police emphasize that in the posts that were recently distributed in the Ukrainian media, all the information presented is based on the opinion of foreign researchers, taken from a foreign media source, and describes such problems of teenagers abroad.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, NeuroScienceNews and Contemporary Pediatrics previously reported, that the deadly trend of "chroming" or "huffing" is gaining popularity on the TikTok social network, when toxic fumes from household items such as markers or nail polish are inhaled.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, appealed to law enforcement agencies to prevent the spread of such flash mobs.
