Russia wants to export coal from occupied territories to India, China and Malaysia - media

The aggressor country of russia intends to start exporting coal mined in the occupied territories of Ukraine in October this year. Its potential buyers can be China, India and Iran.

The russian agency RBC writes about this with reference to the "deputy head of the government" of the "DPR" group Andrey Chertkov.

The company "Torgovy dom Donskiye Ugli" will handle the export of coal mined during the occupation.

It was created in 2020 in Rostov-on-Don. Since February 2024, it has been leased ten coal mines located in the occupied territories.

According to RBC, director general Oleg Knyazev confirmed the company's plans to start exporting coal mined in the captured territories.

Coal deliveries can be made by sea from Taganrog and Rostov-on-Don, as well as occupied Mariupol, Donetsk Region.

In addition, they are considering the option of exporting coal by rail to Azerbaijan and Iran.

An RBC source familiar with the matter said that China, India, Iran, Uzbekistan and Malaysia can buy coal from the occupied territories.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September 2023, it became known that Turkey had been buying coal mined in the occupied territories of Ukraine for at least six months.
