At night, russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missiles, air missiles and drones. Air Force reveal details
Overnight into Tuesday, September 24, radio engineering troops of the Air Force of Ukraine detected and escorted 85 means of air attack of the enemy.
This was reported by the press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In particular, for a night attack, the russians used:
- one Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov Oblast (russia);
- two guided air missiles Kh-59/69 from the airspace of the Bryansk Oblast (russia);
- one missile (type to be determined) from the Kursk Oblast (russia);
- 81 attack drones from Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk areas (russia).
The air attack was repelled by the aviation forces, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of anti-aircraft combat, 66 strike Shaheds were shot down in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy and Mykolaiv Regions. Another 13 drones were lost in several directions due to the active opposition of the Defense Forces.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the army of the aggressor country of the russian federation attacked the territory of Ukraine on the night of September 23 with guided air missiles Kh-59/69 and kamikaze drones of the Shahed type. Three attack drones were shot down by air defense.
In the first half of September, the russian occupiers launched 640 Shahed attack drones over the territory of Ukraine, most of which were shot down by the Air Defense Forces.
