Zelenskyy on ATACMS: in the form in which we have them, they are useless
Regarding ATACMS missiles, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that in the quantity they are available, and with their range limited, Ukraine cannot use them effectively.
Zelenskyy said this while participating in the annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
“ATACMS as we have them today are useless if you can't use them on their (Russian) military bases, or helipads, or their military airfields. Nothing to do with them. If the ATACMS have a large limitation on the use of missiles because there are few of them, unfortunately, it does not work," he said.
Zelenskyy also noted that at the beginning of the use of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, there were three times more of them per month than now.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy, speaking about the permission of Ukraine's Western partners to use long-range weapons, noted: if restrictions are removed on the weapons to which there are no missiles, this is not the removal of restrictions.
According to CNN, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have used almost all of the ATACMS missiles handed over by the United States.
In April, it became known that the U.S. had secretly transferred long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine in March.
