Rada appoints Umierov's deputy Kalmykova as Minister of Veterans
The Verkhovna Rada has appointed a deputy of Minister of Defense Rustem Umierov Natalia Kalmykova as Minister of Veterans Affairs.
256 parliamentarians voted for the corresponding decision, with the minimum required 226.
Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Kalmykova was born on February 4, 1982 in Vinnytsia.
She graduated from the Vinnytsia National Medical University (September 1999 - June 2005) and the Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education, majoring in "Master of Public Management and Administration" (September 2019 - March 2021) (diploma with honors).
From 2018 to 2021 she was amanager of the Charitable Organization "International Charitable Foundation "Come Back Alive".
From June to December 2021, she was an advisor on gender issues to the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From February 2022 to September 2023, she was the executive director of the Ukrainian Veterans Fund.
In April 2014, she became a volunteer and helped the Ukrainian army, during the period of cooperation with the security and defense sector, she was awarded a number of honors and medals of the Ministry of Defense, types and branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On September 27, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Kalmykova as Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Social Development.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada appointed the deputy head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak Mykola Tochytskyi as the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications.
