The Chairman of the Board of the Fund for the Development of the Digital Economy of the aggressor country of the russian federation German Klimenko predicted that the complete blocking of the YouTube video service on the territory of the russian federation will take place in the next 3-5 months.

He stated this in an interview with the russian publication Argumenty i fakty.

Although the russian authorities did not officially announce the blocking of the American service, users from the russian federation have been observing a slowdown in video downloads since July.

Klimenko also emphasized that Roskomnadzor continues to successfully "fight against threats from all providers", which is why "virtually all" VPNs in Google and the Apple Store do not work" on the territory of the russian federation. The russian official also made a prediction about the complete blocking of the video service.

"I would assume that, judging by the current reaction, YouTube will work for another 3-5 months, and then it will be blocked," German Klimenko said.

In the State Duma of the occupation country, attempts to block YouTube in russia were called "a measure directed against the actions of the video hosting administration." At the same time, the Kremlin directly stated that they are not going to block video hosting. At the same time, as previously reported, the russian mass media predicted that the service could be blocked as early as September 2024.
