Armed Forces of Poland explain why they did not shoot down aerial object that flew in from Ukraine
The Armed Forces of Poland did not shoot down the aerial object that flew from the territory of Ukraine on August 26, due to weather conditions.
The commander of the operational command of the Armed Forces of Poland, Maciej Klisz, announced this, Polsat News reports.
"The object disappeared after about 25 km on Polish territory. Due to the weather conditions, I could not give a command to fight it," he added.
The general noted that after the disappearance, the object (probably a drone) was not detected by allied or Polish planes or helicopters.
Currently, the operation to search for the object has been started.
The general said that the object is probably still on Polish territory, although he also did not rule out that it could have taken off.
We will remind, in the morning, Poland raised aviation in the sky due to a massive russian missile attack across Ukraine.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the russian attack on Ukraine on August 26 a combined attack and one of the largest, targeting critical civilian infrastructure.
