Regarding Kyiv HEPP’s dam: there are no threats, it is impossible to destroy it with missiles – NSDC’s Center for Countering Disinformation head Kovalenko

Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), said that as a result of the massive russian attack on August 26, there is no threat to the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant’s dam, and it is impossible to destroy it with missiles.

Kovalenko announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Regarding the Kyiv HEPP’s dam, there are no threats. It is impossible to destroy it with missiles. One should not compare it with the Kherson Region - there was an explosion from the inside. The Russians are using this topic informationally to incite panic, nothing more," he said.

A photo showing black smoke near the Kyiv HEPP building was circulated on social networks.

Speaking about the consequences of the enemy attack, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, noted, in particular, that two energy facilities were damaged in the Kyiv Region.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the russian attack on Ukraine on August 26 a combined attack and one of the largest, aimed at critical civilian infrastructure.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that 15 regions were affected today, August 26, as a result of a massive russian attack, and the energy infrastructure was once again the target of russian terrorists.
