145 combat clashes take place at the front, most intense situation was on Pokrovsk and Toretsk Axes - General Staff
On August 18, a total of 145 combat engagements took place at the front; the enemy attacked the Pokrovsk (45 engagements) and Toretsk (24 engagements) axis.
This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Yesterday, the enemy hit the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements with five strikes with eight missiles and 79 airstrikes, dropping 106 anti-aircraft missiles.
In addition, the russians launched 4,600 attacks, of which 159 were from multiple rocket launchers.
On August 18, a total of 145 combat clashes with the russian occupiers were recorded.
On the Kharkiv Axis, three clashes were fought near Lyptsi and Vovchansk.
On the Kupyan Axis, the enemy attacked 20 times near Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, Kolesnykivka, Lozova, and Synkivka.
On the Limansky Axis, 20 skirmishes took place near Grekivka, Makiivka, Nevsky, Terni, Novosadove, and Torske.
On the Seversky Axis, two combat clashes took place near Verkhnokamyanskyi and Ivano-Daryivka.
On the Kramatorsk Axis, 14 battles were fought in the districts of Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiyivka, Stupochky, and Predtechyne.
On the Toretsk Axis, the russians attacked 24 times near Zalizne, Toretsk, Dyliyivka, and Nelipivka.
On the Pokrovsk Axis, our defenders repelled 45 enemy assaults in the areas of the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Mykolayivka, Ptyche, Novohrodivka, Zavitne, Skuchne, and Mykhailivka.
On the Kurakhove Axis, the Defense Forces stopped nine enemy attacks near Paraskoviyivka, Krasnohorivka, and Kostiantynivka.
On the Vremiv Axis, the russian invaders advanced four times in the direction of Vodiane and Rozdolne.
On the Dnipro Axis, enemy troops carried out four assaults on the positions of Ukrainian units without success.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy Regions, the enemy maintains a military presence and carries out mortar and artillery attacks on populated areas from the territory of russia.
In total, in the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces made 17 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the enemy, hit the artillery system, two air defense systems, three control points, four radars and two more important objects of the occupiers.
On August 18, the total losses of the russian invaders amounted to 1,120 people.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 16, a total of 132 combat clashes took place at the front, most of them in Pokrovsk (51 clashes) and Kurakhove (17 clashes) Axes.
