MAGURA V5 marine drones hit 18 russian ships in year and a half - Defense Intelligence
The commander of the special unit of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "Group 13" with the call sign Thirteenth reported that in a year and a half, the Ukrainian MAGURA V5 maritime attack drone hit 18 ships of the aggressor state of russia.
He told about this and combat work with MAGURA V5 unmanned sea drones in an interview for Deutsche Welle, the press service of the Defense Intelligence reports.
"In fact, the Black Sea fleet of the russian federation in Crimea has capitulated. The russian federation has already removed everything most modern and necessary from Sevastopol. This fleet is paralyzed. Now it is eating money from the budget of the russian federation, although it cannot perform its functions," Thirteenth said.
It is indicated that the Ukrainian-made MAGURA V5 attack marine drone is capable of covering a distance of more than 800 kilometers. Its speed is 80 km/h, and the warhead is 250 kilograms.
"We didn't chase an increase in the combat unit to destroy the ship with one hit. We went the other way: we attacked in a swarm, inflicting five or more hits on large ships, which caused critical damage," he said.
The intelligence officer also explained that Ukrainian drones when used in operations come too close to the enemy: "When they detect us in most cases - not always, but in most cases - it's already too late for them."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of August 8-9, near the settlement of Chornomorske in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the soldiers of the special unit of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine "Group 13" with the help of a MAGURA V5 attack marine drone destroyed another ship of the russian occupiers - a speed boat of the project KS 701 of the "Tunets" type.
Earlier, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense confirmed the installation of Soviet missiles on Magura drones, which can shoot down russian aircraft.
