War in Ukraine started because of "stupid things" that Biden started saying - Donald Trump
US presidential candidate Donald Trump said that the war in Ukraine started because of current US President Joseph Biden. Including because of his statement that Ukraine can be in NATO.
Trump said this in an interview with Elon Musk.
"When I left [from the post of US President - ed.], they started to form a big army on the border with Ukraine. I thought that in the case of putin, and he is a good parliamentarian, they are doing this to negotiate. And then Biden started saying stupid things. For example, he said that Ukraine can be in NATO. For as long as NATO has existed, russia has always said that it would never go for it. And here we take it and say it. Because we have a President with a low IQ. He had it low 30 years ago, and now it probably doesn't exist at all,” Trump said.
In addition, Trump said that he threatened putin when he was President, and that it deterred the russian dictator.
"I told vladimir putin: "Don't do this. You can't do it, vladimir. Bad days will come. Don't do it.' I told him what I would do in response to his actions. He said, 'That's impossible.' I said, 'Anyway.' That was our last conversation. He would never do that. I got along with him. I hope to come to an understanding with him now. It will be very good," Trump said.
Trump has previously stated that he intends to negotiate peace between the russian federation and Ukraine as president-elect even before he is sworn in as the next President of the United States.
