Invaders concentrating their attacks on Pokrovsk axis – AFU General Staff’s morning operational update

During the past day, August 9, 2024, 90 combat clashes were recorded at the front. The enemy advanced most actively on the Pokrovsk axis.

This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

According to detailed information, yesterday the enemy launched two missile strikes against the positions of Ukrainian units and population centers, using two missiles, as well as 71 airstrikes, dropping 91 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it carried out more than 4,800 attacks, 170 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

The aggressor carried out airstrikes in the areas of population centers, in particular, Zarutske, Bilovody, Yunakivka, Khrapivshchyna, Vasylivka, Hlukhiv, Poloshky, Bereza, Kucherivka, Stari Vyrky, Pysarivka, Petrushivka, Mohrytsia of the Sumy Region; Serhiyivka, Toretsk, Kostiantynivka, Hrodivka, Tymofiivka, Oleksandropil, Novodonetske, Vodiane, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka of the Donetsk Region; Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia Region; Zmiivka, Kherson Region.

Yesterday, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces carried out four strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and equipment of the enemy, and also hit four control points, three air defense systems, seven artillery systems, an ammunition depot and three other important objects.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the total losses of the russian invaders last day amounted to 1,160 people. Also, our soldiers neutralized seven tanks, nine armored combat vehicles, 69 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket systems, two air defense systems, 47 operational-tactical UAVs, a cruise missile, 82 vehicles and 20 units of special equipment.

As noted, four battles were fought on the Kharkiv axis. The defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Vovchansk.

Two skirmishes took place on the Kupiansk axis, in particular, near Kolisnykivka and Tabaivka.

According to the General Staff, on the Lyman axis, the enemy attacked 15 times near Makiivka, Nevske and the Serebrianskyi forest.

There were 11 combat clashes on the Siversk axis. Ukrainian defenders repelled the assaults of the russian invaders near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Ivano-Daryivka, Vyimka and Spirne.

On the Kramatorsk axis, nine battles were fought in the areas of Stupochky, Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske.

On the Toretsk axis, the russians attacked 14 times near Bila Hora, Dyliyivka, Toretsk and Niu York.

"On the Pokrovsk axis, our defenders repelled 28 enemy assaults in the areas of the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zelene Pole, Hrodivka, Zhelanne, Kalynove, Oleksandrivka, and Yasnobrodivka. The greatest concentration of attacks was near Hrodivka and Zhelanne," the message says.

On the Kurakhove axis, the Defense Forces repelled five enemy attacks near Paraskoviivka, Oleksandrivka, and Kostiantynivka.

On the Vremivka axis, the enemy's offensive towards Vodiane was not successful.

On the Orikhiv axis, russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian units near Mala Tokmachka.

On the Huliaipole and Prydniprovske axes, the situation has not changed much.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected on the Volyn and Polissia axes.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy Regions, the enemy maintains a military presence, carries out mortar and artillery attacks on population centers from the territory of the russian federation.

At the same time, our soldiers continue to actively inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy along the entire line of battle.
