Arrest of Kyivskyi Metropoliten managers complicates subway management and restoration of traffic between Lybidska and Demiivska – Kyiv City State Administration

The 24-hour house arrest of the acting head of the Kyivskyi Metropoliten complicates the management of the subway, in particular, works to restore traffic between the Lybidska and Demiivska stations.

The Kyiv City State Administration has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Today, July 25, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest until September 23 for the acting head of the Kyivskyi Metropoliten, Viktor Vyhivskyi. This complicates the process of managing the capital's subway system, a critically important enterprise," the message says.

In addition, according to the information of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, a preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest until September 23 was also chosen for the head of the track service, tunnel structures and buildings of the Kyiv Metropoliten municipal enterprise.

"Thus, during the final stage of restoration of the section between the Demiivska and Lybidska stations, the work of the enterprise will be complicated," the Kyiv City State Administration emphasizes.

The city authorities insist on an impartial investigation and see in the actions of law enforcement officers political pressure and attempts to destabilize the operation of the subway.

At the same time, the Kyiv Metropoliten emphasized that, despite all the obstacles and pressure, repair work in the tunnel between the Demiivska and Lybidska stations continues in order to open traffic there by the beginning of autumn.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office refutes the statements of the Kyiv City State Administration about the shoddy construction of flooded tunnels between the Demiivska and Lybidska subway stations in Kyiv and considers the cause of the tunnel's destruction to be improper operation by the Kyivskyi Metropoliten municipal enterprise.
