Schoolchildren will learn to fly drones and shoot laser simulators from 10th grade

Pupils of grades 10-11 of general secondary education institutions will study the model curriculum "Defense of Ukraine", which includes theoretical lessons and practical classes on new equipment.

This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In the 10th grade, students will study the basics of national security and defense of Ukraine, study weapons and military equipment. Practical classes will include orientation on the terrain, the basics of engineering fortification, marksmanship training.

In the 11th grade, students will study the development of military technologies, features of information security, pre-medical assistance, methods of protecting the civilian population in crisis conditions, opportunities and methods of defense of Ukraine.

"A training day once a month to immerse yourself more deeply in the material and practice practical skills more effectively. For this purpose, specially equipped cells are created, where students will be able to practice the acquired knowledge on new technical equipment. Modern equipment - the cells will be equipped with computer simulators for controlling drones, interactive laser shooting simulators and tools for mastering the rules of first aid," the message says.

Students will practice drone control, information security, navigation, open source intelligence (OSINT), stress and psychological resilience. Educational field meetings or training sessions, as well as educational excursions, projects, games, etc., will become mandatory.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 23, the Cabinet of Ministers set the start of the academic year on September 2, 2024.

On July 23, the Lviv City Council appealed to the government to provide the opportunity to independently make decisions about the structure of the academic year with safety in each region.
