India summons Ambassador of Ukraine because of Zelenskyy's words regarding Prime Minister Modi - media

India summoned the Ambassador of Ukraine due to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's remarks regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Moscow. India also postponed the meeting of the joint working group with Ukraine on cultural issues.

According to the publication, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador on Monday, July 15, to discuss the remarks made by President Zelenskyy against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to russia.

"This clearly shows New Delhi's dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian position on the issue of Zelenskyy's comments regarding the Prime Minister. It also became known that India postponed the meeting of the joint working group with Ukraine on cultural issues against the background of the incident," the report said.

Last week, Zelenskyy criticized Modi's meeting with russian dictator vladimir putin at his country house, calling it a "devastating blow to peace efforts." He said: "It is sad to see the leader of the world's largest democracy in Moscow hugging the world's most notorious criminal."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 9, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for an end to the war in Ukraine.
