Ukraine receives emergency energy aid from EU countries' grids
On July 14, Ukraine received emergency assistance from the power systems of Poland and Slovakia, and at night on July 15 - from the power system of Poland.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrenergo national energy company, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"On Sunday, July 14, from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m., in order to reduce the volume of the deficit, Ukrenergo received emergency supplies from the power systems of Poland and Slovakia. Yesterday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Ukrainian power system received surpluses from the power system of Poland. Today at night, the Polish power system also carried out an emergency supply of electricity to the power system of Ukraine," the message reads.
It is noted that due to the abnormal heat and the increase in consumption in Europe, the volume of electricity imports has decreased.
In particular, it is planned to import electricity from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary during the day with a total volume of 25,126 MWh, with a maximum capacity of 1,336 MW.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, electricity consumption is kept at the maximum level due to abnormal heat.
Ukraine has lost 9 GW of capacity since the end of March due to russian shelling.
