"NABU, SACPO and HACC start to act according to double standards", Kostiantyn Zhevaho comments on preventive measure chosen for him
Investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist Kostiantyn Zhevaho believes that representatives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), Specializaed Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SACPO) and High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) are acting according to double standards while conducting an investigation of the criminal case against him
He expressed this opinion on the air of Espreso, according to the website of the TV channel.
"Unfortunately, today NABU, SACPO and HACC began to act according to double standards. Two months ago, the NABU investigator issued me a summons, agreed with the SACPO prosecutor. I received it under my own signature in France. I am always ready to testify in the framework of a criminal case, which was opened against me illegally in my opinion and the opinion of my lawyers. By the way, the suspicion that was handed to me was written on only a few pages. That is, I signed that I will come to the interrogation. On July 10, the HACC decided to arrest me in absentia, as I am allegedly hiding from the investigator and my whereabouts are unknown. Yesterday, they arrived in France to conduct an interrogation. I spent more than 11 hours with NABU and SACPO representatives. They interrogated me for 11 hours. The interrogation took place directly with the participation of the French justice authorities," Zhevaho said.
The entrepreneur emphasized that NABU investigators and SACPO prosecutors are abusing their rights and duties.
"I have a question for them. If the prosecutors and investigators first report that they cannot find me, and the next day they are interrogating me in France, isn't that double standards!? Yesterday's interrogation was attended by representatives of the French justice system. After that they said that in France, for such actions of investigators and prosecutors, they would have received more than 5 years behind bars for exceeding their official powers. This is nothing but abuse of their rights and the law," he added.
On July 10, the High Anti-Corruption Court announced the selection of a preventive measure in the form of absentee arrest of Kostiantyn Zhevaho.
